I'm Hosna, and I run Ms Chess because I kept walking into chess spaces that didn't feel like they were designed for me, or anyone I knew, and I got tired of adjusting to fit them. So I organised the first one - I was nervous, worried nobody would show. Every month since, I still get a version of that anxiety before doors open. And every month, new people turn up. Absolute beginners sitting next to people who've been playing for years, and somehow the room just works. I think people are craving something analogue right now. Real rooms, face-to-face conversation, organic ways of meeting people. Ms Chess is my version of that - a space where the game is the excuse, and the community is the thing.
