What we’re about
Cinema Social is a cozy space for those of us in our late 20s to 30s, who are film enthusiasts (don’t have to be a total film bro), and looking for more community and connection with others in a similar stage in life. Each fortnight, we pick a current movie to watch together at a local cinema in the evening. We will alternate sessions between a weekday for cheap ticket deals (because the economy) and a Friday/Saturday evening for weekend plans vibes. We will meet 20 minutes before the film for intros. Then after the movie, we discuss, review and mingle over drinks or food at a nearby spot. We will be: - Discussing and reviewing actors, directors, cinematography, film news + recommendations. - Meeting new people and getting to know each other over discussions, food and drink after sessions. - Trying out theme nights, special screenings, festivals etc. - Anymore ideas welcome ✨

Hey, I’m Sharon Ruva! I work in healthcare by day. I love movies, good conversation about lots of topics, nature, wine, travelling and trying new things. I also enjoy meeting new people and being in community. I started Cinema Social to watch more movies at the cinema (one of my favourite places to be) and faciliate a space for like minded folks to connect outside of a screen.
