What we’re about

For anyone who loves making things by hand, slowing down, and meeting new people. We host creative afternoons and nights where we explore a mix of crafts (from hand embroidery, cross-stitching, and bead weaving to textile art, sewing, badge pin making, paper crafts, upcycling projects, and playful blends of digital and analog design) Each session has its own theme and atmosphere — sometimes cozy and slow, sometimes more social and music-filled — but always creative, relaxed, and beginner-friendly. You can expect: ★ Monthly and weekly workshops in café, bars and venues around Sydney. ★ All tools and materials provided — just bring yourself (and maybe a friend). ★ A friendly space to unwind, experiment, and reconnect with the joy of making. Moka Craft Club is for anyone who wants to create without pressure, learn something new, and be part of a community built around creativity, curiosity, and good vibes.

Rossella Petrini

Sydney-based multidisciplinary artist and co-founder of Moka Studio

We began moka studio in 2020, focusing on custom hand-embroidery as a way to recycle and give old garments a second life. while embroidery remains central to our work, we’ve evolved into a studio rooted in craft, circularity, and responsible design, offering functional accessories made from second-hand garments, deadstock fabrics, and locally sourced materials. Moka is also a space for learning and exchange, where we offer workshops in upcycling and hand embroidery that support repair culture and nurture creative skills. recently, we took part in mind pop up at melbourne fashion week 2025, a showcase of local designers dedicated to circular and regenerative fashion.
