Social Skate club

A community for park skaters of every level looking to have fun, connect and/or learn.

Wanting to create a relaxed, no-pressure club for people that skate that want to make friends, that are learning to skate or, getting back to skating after a hiatus. This is more centred around park skating (skateparks with ramps, half pipes, etc) but, open to doing cruise skating events as well. Most of the events will be hosted near the CBD just for easy access for everyone to get to but also, open to other locations. The times vary but, during the summer will be hosting skating events after work times (6pm-8pm) and weekends will host any time before sun down.

I've been skating on and off for a over a year and I feel that having people/a community to skate with would motivate me and other people to go outside, skate more and even make create connections. Skaters in skateparks are real nice people but, it's still difficult to try and create new long term friendships within skate parks. On top of that, I feel that once you're out of school and uni, making friends becomes more difficult as an adult because third places are now diminishing within communities. I wanted to put this out there since the skate park is my third place and it would be great to create a community for skaters and make it feel more open to meet and mingle.
