What we’re about

Melbourne's home for phone-free, conversation-first events where you actually leave knowing people's names. All events are built around real connection without digital distractions: quiet time to arrive and settle, then social time with the small talk skipped entirely. The main activity rotates — think book swaps, educational talks, fashion workshops, dance, and fitness. Sometimes it's a reading lounge. Sometimes it's movement. Always unhurried. Always worth showing up solo. Small groups, intentional vibes, open to all humans.

Founder and host of @thisisthethirdplace. Pilates instructor, compulsive side-quester, and driven by the belief that a village doesn't build itself.

Hola! It’s Ash — I do a bit of everything, but my passion is connection. I have always been the first to reach out. When I moved to Australia 2 years ago, I found it hard to make new friends, and I quickly realised that most people here are in the same boat, just too polite to say it. 🤭 That's why I started The Third Place. I wanted to create a space where showing up alone isn't brave — it's expected. Where you don't need to know anyone, have anything to say, or perform a version of yourself you haven't settled into yet. The village doesn't build itself. I'm just obsessed with making it easier to start. 🪄
