radical reads
a book club for those who read to resist, unlearn, and reimagine.
Radical Reads is a community-focus book club dedicated to exploring political literature that challenges the status quo. We gather to discuss thought-provoking texts that help us unlearn systemic norms, such as racism and sexism, and reimagine a more equitable future free of capitalism. Expect deep, challenging conversations in a space that prioritises critical thinking and collective growth. Our values include challenging exploitation, honouring indigenous sovereignty, resisting oppression, practical radical empathy, and embracing collective learning. Our previous reads include ‘Dark Emu’ by Bruce Pascoe, ‘Jakarta method’ by Vincent Bevins, and ‘One Day Everyone Would Have Been Against This’ by Omar Al Akkad.

Meet the host
I love weightlifting and I'm currently getting back into running, I’m actually training for my second half marathon! I'm big on trying new foods, experiencing different cultures, and seeing the world. Always up for a live gig or festival, techno/groove rave is my fav rn. But what I love most is d&ms about the hard stuff in the world (*cough, cough* capitalism) and how we plan to fix it, while also holding deep appreciation for what makes life so beautiful 💛
