Bring Your Own Book - The Game

Bookclub meets games night

Has anyone heard of a game called 'Bring Your Own Book'? It's like Cards Against Humanity, but instead of cards for responses to prompts everyone has their own book that they pick out their response from. Eg. Everyone brings a book they have recently read or are familiar with. Someone reads out a prompt like 'a phrase found in a fortune cookie' and everyone quickly searches for the best match in their book for it. Then we each go around to share our answer and the person who read out the prompt decides who wins the round. The potential I see with this is having a variety of books. Non-fiction, fiction, serious or casual, high fantasy or a cook book, dark themes or lighter tones. Everyone's answers could be vastly different, or maybe by some fluke they end up being in the same ball park. Plus it's a fun way of sharing a favourite book with people and being able to take things out of context 😜 Bring yourselves and your book! It's $2 entry per participant to cover room hire costs. Open to people bringing plus ones, but on the day will need to pay $2 upon arrival.
