Hey everyone! I wanted to create a Butter event to open up my existing monthly poetry meetup to a few more writers. The vibe is pretty simple: a couple of hours in Prince Alfred Park exchanging poems and stories with strangers, soaking up the winter sun, sipping on a coffee or tea, and touching some grass on a Sunday afternoon. Anyone who’s free afterwards is more than welcome to join me for lunch somewhere nearby—we usually just decide on the day. This meetup is best suited to people who are already writing and are looking for a community of creatives to be part of. It’s a relaxed, supportive space where we can share our work, chat about writing, and meet like-minded people. I originally started Lunch Time Poetry because my work hours make it difficult to get to poetry slams, and I’ve always preferred slow daytime gatherings over late-night events.
