I’m heading to Alex Lahey at the Corner Hotel and thought I’d see if any other music lovers wanted to meet beforehand. Plan is simple: grab a drink, food or quick hello nearby, chat for a bit, then head into the gig. No pressure to stick together the whole night. Just a casual way to make a Friday gig feel a bit more social. Solo gig-goers, small groups and fellow “keen to get out more” people very welcome.

Meet the planner
I’m a busy primary school teacher settling into a new chapter in Melbourne and trying to be more intentional about making friends, trying new things and doing more of what makes me happy. I love good conversation, animals, nature, walking, board games, birds, good food, and deep-diving into topics I find interesting. I can be a bit quiet and reserved at first, but once I feel comfortable I’m silly, honest, thoughtful and very much up for a proper conversation.
