Dear Next Girl - Sisterhood of the Travelling Journal

Dear Next Girl is a little experiment in creativity, connection and meeting new people.

The idea is simple: everyone starts their own journal, then we send them travelling around the group, with each girl adding a little piece of her life to every journal along the way. 💌

We’ll start with an in-person meet-up where everyone can meet, have a chat and create the first few pages of their own journal. Think photos, doodles, stickers, journalling, postcards, memories, tickets, random thoughts and all the little bits of life you want to keep.

Then, it’s time to swap! 📖

We’ll decide an order within the group and everyone will pass their journal to the next girl. You’ll take someone else’s journal home, add a couple of pages of your own, then pass it along again at the next swap.

The journals will keep travelling from girl to girl until eventually your original journal makes its way back to you, filled with little snapshots of everyone’s lives, adventures, memories and personalities. 🥹

Our first meet-up ✂️📖

We’ll spend a few hours together crafting, chatting and getting to know the girls whose journals will be travelling alongside yours.

I’ll have journals available (or you can bring your own!) and a bunch of crafty bits to get us started. Feel free to bring along any photos, stickers, postcards, tickets, scraps, pens or other little things you’d like to use.

You absolutely do not need to be artistic or have journalled before. There’s no right way to make your pages. Make them pretty, chaotic, sentimental, silly or completely random. They’re yours.

The expense jar 💌

There’ll be a little $7.50 expense jar contribution for the night, just to help cover some of the journals, crafty materials and pizzas for us to share while we create. 🍕✂️

If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, please let me know when you book so I can make sure there’s something you can eat!

After the first meet-up 📮

You’ll leave with another girl’s journal, ready to add your little piece to it.

Once you’ve finished your pages, you can organise a coffee, drink or little catch-up with the next girl to swap journals, post it to her, or simply arrange somewhere convenient to hand it over.

Then you’ll receive another journal and do it all over again!

The hope is that Dear Next Girl becomes more than just a journal. It’s a reason to keep connecting, meet someone new and share little pieces of our lives with each other.

And after every journal has made its way around the group, you’ll finally get yours back - now filled with pages created by all the girls you started this little project with. 🌞📖💌
