Over the years, I’ve shared countless stories, bottles, and chovies at Gerald’s; a refuge of old-school hospitality, unhurried conversation, and unmistakable Northside charm. It’s the kind of place where one drink becomes three because the room insists. Now, in its new home, the song remains the same: richer, yet comfortingly familiar. The front bar still sits under Michael Caine’s iconic gaze (and a few empty bottles I may have contributed), while the dining room is lined with esoteric trinkets that make it feel less like a restaurant and more like Gerald's own home. It’s Gerald’s; transformed, yet unmistakably itself. To mark Bon Chovy’s return for summer, we’re gathering for new friends at an old friend’s - a night of small plates, dirty martinis, and easy conversation for those who appreciate deft hospitality.
