Hanging Rock Hike
A medium difficulty hike
Hey everyone! Since the weather has been getting sunnier and warmer, I was think its a great time to go for a hike to the Hanging Rock. We will meet up at 9 at the Hanging Rock Carpark (at the end of Ridgewell Rd in Blackheath). The hike is a 10km return walk that takes about 3-4 hours total, giving us plenty of time for breaks and photos. In terms of difficulty, it is rated as medium; majority of the route follows a wide and flat fire trail, making it very accessible. The only slight challenging bit is a short steeper bush track right at the end to see the rock. I recommend bring enclosed, comfortable walking shoes, water, snacks, sunscreen and a hat. It can get pretty cold and wind up there so definitely bring a jacket or jumper just in case! There is an optional jump to get onto the Hanging Rock, but the views from the main cliff edge is just as spectacular and perfectly safe! I hope to see you guys there! π
