Most of us aren't bad at conversation. We're just stuck in our heads about it - overthinking the opener, bracing for judgment, then retreating to the safety of people we already know.

Andrew (me) and Dean are running a hands-on session on the practical mechanics of connecting with people. Not theory. Not "just be yourself." Actual tools you'll practise in the room.

WHAT WE’LL COVER:

• Why it feels weird: fear of rejection, fear of judgment, and the stories we tell ourselves

• Starting conversations: genuine compliments, active listening, body language and pace

• Keeping them going when the small talk runs out

• Exiting gracefully - how to leave a conversation (or decline an invite) without the guilt

• Managing the overthinking that shows up before, during, and after

HOW IT RUNS:

Structured but casual. We'll share our own stories, you'll practise through roleplay in small groups, and we'll play Green Light / Red Light — a game where you'll get to work out, in real time, what lands and what doesn't.

Rugs on the floor, drinks, biscuits. Come alone or bring someone (ticket purchase required).

Tickets $20 — limited spots so everyone gets time to practise.
