Cursed Crafts: BYO Embroidery Workshop

Got some clothing that feels a bit plain you’d like to add a little more bite to? Then this one’s for you. 🪡

This is a beginner-friendly embroidery workshop, no sewing experience required.

You’ll learn a handful of foundational hand embroidery stitches and use them to bring a spooky motif to life on your own garment, pick from a curated selection of templates on the day, whatever catches your eye.

What to bring

• 1 to 3 clothing items or accessories you’d like to embroider.

Fabric type

Denim jackets, tote bags, tees, hoodies - anything with a bit of surface to work with.

Most fabrics are welcome, wovens like denim, cotton and canvas are easiest for a first project or something with a bit of stretch.

Avoid anything that’s too stretchy like jersey and best to leave silk, satin and leather at home for this one.

What’s provided

• Hoops, needles, a selection of embroidery thread colours
• A selection of spooky motifs to choose from
• transfer tools/templates for perfect stitching
• As much guidance as you need

Realistically, most people will leave having completed one motif beautifully rather than three depending on design and size, so treat your extra items as options to choose from on the day rather than a guaranteed hat-trick, but I know some of you are fast with your hands ❤️‍🔥

Accessibility: good hand dexterity and eyesight needed for this one. The venues main entrance has some steps but there is an alternate entrance that is wheelchair accessible, please let me know if you have any accessibility needs or questions.
