What is Cursed Crafts?

A social craft workshop series for the goth and alt community where you’ll make a goth/dark themed art piece to take home while connecting with others who share your enthusiasm for the unusual.

In this beginner friendly workshop you’ll learn to make a hanging spiderweb suncatcher and spider charm. Equal parts eerie and elegant, ready to catch light in whatever corner of your home wants a little more atmosphere. Window, wall, or door knob, it’s not fussy about where it lives.

Working from a wire base, you’ll build a spiderweb from beads and wire, learning beading arrangement and wire techniques so the design holds its shape rather than collapsing into chaos. From there, wire looping and cutting to construct a fully beaded spider charm, the finishing detail that turns a web into a scene.

In this session, you will:

• Learn core bead arrangement and tensioning techniques
• Practice wire looping and cutting
• Build a beaded web and spider from start to finish
• Assemble your finished web and spider onto a suction cup hook

Guests will get:

• A completed beaded spiderweb with a dangling spider charm ready to take home and hang
• All materials included
• Vegan snacks to keep you going
• A room full of new alt and goth baddies to yap with

No prior beading experience required, just steady hands and a willingness to get a little obsessive over beads and wire. Workshop will be approx 2.5 hours.

This isn’t the kind of workshop where you leave not knowing a single soul. Expect icebreakers built in, so there’s plenty of room to yap and craft in equal measure and actually get to know the people next to you.

Accessibility info

Fine motor skills are required for this workshop due to the nature of the bead threading.

The studio space is on the ground floor with a few steps to get in. There is a separate wheelchair accessible entrance however there is no accessible toilet at the studio.
