Hike | Lake Elizabeth via West Barwon Dam
Planned by Masha Gussak from Clover Social ClubFriday, 7th November, from 9:00 PM
What to expect
Lake and river stroll
This is a hard hike. 15.8 km, 5-6 hours, 670 m elevation. We will meet near Lorne at 8 am to start walking. Please disregard Butter address. If you want a chance to see a platypus in the wild, this is the walk for you! This beautiful trail in the Otways takes you to the famous Lake Elizabeth, which is one of the best places in Australia to spot these shy creatures. The lake itself has an eerie beauty, with the trunks of dead trees rising from the water. It was formed back in 1952 when a landslide dammed the river, creating this unique habitat.
