Sixteen events, how does he do it? I know what you are thinking, another long film again in this club? “Michael, you should really look into fixing your attention span through other means that aren’t localised through films”, you may ponder. And to that I say, “boo hoo.” This has been something I have been really looking forward to laying my little depreciating eyeballs over and if you have not heard of Edward Yang’s masterpiece “Yi Yi (One One - A One and a Two)”, do yourself a favour. There are films out there that very much hold their own impact on our world and we have seen how they can alight and invoke more of our interest in them generally. Taiwanese cinema and on the matter of the New Wave movement generally (or even Asian/Eastern cinema), especially with its influence to modern day works, can very much owe a lot of its artistic value from this film. We will be going to the 1:30 p.m. session at ACMI and tickets will be available to be purchased through this link:
