A whole year of Morn, which feels insane to type. Once a month I bake too much and invite strangers (and repeat snackers) into my apartment and we call it book club. And this one is our twelfth month!!
October’s pick is Taipei Story by R.F. Kuang. Lily flies across the world to find out where she’s “really from” and gets a brutal Mandarin program, a roommate from hell, and a hot springs scandal instead. Exploring the idea of making friends as an adult is weird. And making friends in your second language is worse.
As always, no pressure to finish the book. Just a good appetite and energy to yap is all you need. Anniversary menu is still in the works
11am on a Sunday so you can sleep in or have a cheeky morning run first (both valid). We talk as long as it takes and nobody leaves on time (I'm very proud of that).
